Known and beloved for its white-sand beaches, the new Marina Flamingo, and spectacular ocean views, upscale Playa Flamingo is often referred to as the Beverly Hills of Costa Rica. But, while the town definitely has a polished and discerning vibe, it’s not pretentious: think exclusive, not exclusionary or sophisticated without snobbery.
With the inauguration of the new marina, Playa Flamingo real estate is booming. The vast majority of area offerings are homesites and single-family homes, most often set into hillside communities that promise upscale lifestyle amenities and breathtaking ocean vistas. There are several exclusive, upscale gated communities in the area, and they’re especially popular among families and retirees. They include Mar Vista, Flamingo Estates, and Altos de Flamingo.
Prices start around $500,000 for ocean-view homesites and lots; $600,000 for mountain-view single-family homes and villas; and $1M for ocean-view single-family homes and villas. Luxury properties also start at $1M.
