Playas del Coco, often styled as Playa del Coco or simple “Coco,” is Guanacaste’s biggest beach town – a city, even, if you’re willing to be a little loose with your definitions. Don’t let size fool you, though: Despite its diminutive acreage, this once-fishing village offers some of the best amenities on the coast.
Oceanfront with beautiful beaches, close to the international airport (~30 minutes), and near every major amenity in Costa Rica, Playas del Coco is both affordable and aspirational. It’s also incredibly popular for families, retirees, and digital nomads, who flock to the area for well-priced real estate – everything from family homes and luxury villas to empty-nester condos and seaside townhomes. Playas del Coco is also home to the gated communities of Coco Bay Estates, Monte Hermoso, Monte Mar, and Pacifico.
Prices start around $200,000 for building lots and homesites and $300,000 for single-family homes and villas. Luxury properties start at around $800,000.
