A native Floridian, Jane made the move to Costa Rica over twenty-seven years ago. After many trips to Guanacaste through earlier years, and having many chances to tour the country, she had literally fallen in love with Costa Rica and made her first investment with her mother in an oceanfront lot in Flamingo. Building first a small home, which some years later grew into a huge Spanish Colonial-style home, she set down major roots here. Other investments have included a condo in the San Jose area of Escazu which she bought for a second “city” home. 

She became a permanent resident of Costa Rica many years ago and is now a citizen of Costa Rica.

 Jane received her Florida Real Estate license in 1976, working first with Coldwell Banker, and eventually managed the sales and rentals for Universal Environmental Control, a construction development that built over twenty apartment buildings, and the first high-rise condo in the Jacksonville Beaches area. 

 Some years later, Jane was offered a position working in Communications and Broadcasting for the PGA Golf Tour in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL but always kept one foot in the business of real estate. Growing up in a family brokerage in Florida, it was a natural path for Jane to follow in her parents’ footsteps and delve into the beach resort market.  

 In the early 90s, Jane left it all to become a founding partner in Roadshow Music Corporation Florida.,a music publishing and production company in the Orlando, Florida area, which was fast becoming the new entertainment center of the south. Working primarily in communication, licensing of catalog product, and management of artists and legal affairs, she made many contacts all over the world. 

And with the coming of the internet to Costa Rica, she was able to combine her life here with her business ties in Los Angeles, New York, and Florida. With the airport in Liberia being so close, travel was a breeze. And with real estate still in her blood, she began to locate properties here in Costa Rica for like-minded friends and colleagues who wanted to invest in what she calls “The Dream Life of the Tropics,” beginning her involvement with Costa Rican investments. 

 In 2007 and 2008 Jane brokered a real estate resort sales office in Flamingo for the Alegría Condominium Development, a 150-unit planned community, and was also involved in the sale and development of other private properties in Flamingo. She is a past board member of the Flamingo Homeowners’ Association and has been active in community development. 

 In 2014, after working independently for a few years, Jane joined the new Krain Costa Rica Real Estate agency, which had just moved to Costa Rica from Chicago, where she spent over seven successful years there helping clients from all over the world find their perfect spot. In 2021, Jane began another chapter of her real estate career with a move to Blue Water Properties, an exciting, fast-paced, and innovative company with offices now coming to the Flamingo area. 

Jane has held a Florida Real Estate License since 1976, participates in all continuing education for that licensure, and is a member of the Costa Rica Global Association of Realtors, and the NAR – National Association of Realtors of the U.S. She is very knowledgeable in the areas of relocation and investment in Guanacaste, and also in the capital city of San Jose.
